The School Age Child Care (SACC) program is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and is designed for working parents with children ages 5 through 13. SACC operates from 2:00 to 6:00 pm during regular school days. On school vacations, SACC offers full-day care from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm (small additional fee required for vacation weeks).

SACC's structured programs offer educational, recreational and social learning opportunities. The program's activities include homework support, literacy, math coaching, science, arts, chess and Spanish Clubs, recreation, computers, field trips and special events.

SACC programs operate out of seven different sites: The Bird Street Community Center at 500 Columbia Road, Dorchester; the David A. Ellis School at 302 Walnut Avenue, Roxbury; the R.W. Emerson School at 6 Shirley Street, Roxbury; the Nathan Hale School at 51 Cedar Street, Roxbury; the William E. Russell Elementary School, 750 Columbia Road, Dorchester, MA; Ellis Mendell Elementary School, 164 School Street, Roxbury, MA; Orchard Gardens K-8 School, 906 Albany Street, Roxbury, MA; and new in the Fall of 2009 the Higginson Lewis K2-8 School, 131 Walnut Ave, Roxbury, MA.

If your children are enrolled in the Boston Public Schools, arrangements may be made to transport your children to BSCC sites. For help with transportation questions contact the Boston Public Schools at (617) 635-9520.

Rates:

Weekly fees depend on family income. We have scholarships and subsidized slots and accept child care vouchers. To obtain a voucher contact Child Care Choices of Boston.

Enrollment:

If you would like to enroll your child in the School Age Child Care Program for the school year, please stop by 500 Columbia Rd. to pick up an application. Click here to download application. A deposit is required with the completed application.
