The School Age Child Care program needs volunteers at all four sites to help in the classrooms, in the gym, in the computer lab, and with homework. Each site has unique needs depending on the number of volunteers, staff, and children enrolled. All potential volunteers are subject to criminal background checks. Volunteers are expected to follow through with their time commitment. Volunteers are not expected to be disciplinarians nor are they expected to work with youth without staff support. Bird Street recognizes volunteers in an annual volunteer banquet held in the spring.
