With support from a wide range of private and public funding sources including the United Way, Bird Street offers "Reach One Teach One". This is a mentoring program that serves at-risk youth through one-on-one relationships with caring adult volunteers. Our goal for this program is to partner 30 at-risk youth annually with adult mentors and to provide youth and adults with an important long-term relationship. Case Manager/Mentoring Specialist Maxine Service is taking applications from interested adults who have 4-6 hours per month to develop an ongoing relationship with a Bird Street youth member. Minimum 12 month requirement. In addition to weekly individual meetings, monthly socials and year end celebrations for the entire group will be planned. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact Ms. Service.
